چکیده

Spectral Doppler ultrasound imaging allows visualizing blood flow by estimating its velocity distribution over time. Duplex ultrasound is a modality in which an ultrasound system is used for displaying simultaneously both B-mode images and spectral Doppler data. In B-mode imaging short wide-band pulses are used to achieve sufficient spatial resolution in the images. In contrast, for Doppler imaging, narrow-band pulses are preferred in order to attain increased spectral resolution. Thus, the acquisition time must be shared between the two sequences. In this work, we propose a non-uniform slow-time transmission scheme for spectral Doppler, based on nested arrays, which reduces the number of pulses needed for accurate spectrum recovery. We derive the minimal number of Doppler emissions needed, using this approach, for perfect reconstruction of the blood spectrum in a noise-free environment. Next, we provide two spectrum recovery techniques which achieve this minimal number. The first method performs efficient recovery based on the fast Fourier transform. The second allows for continuous recovery of the Doppler frequencies, thus avoiding off-grid error leakage, at the expense of increased complexity. The performance of the techniques is evaluated using realistic Field II simulations, showing accurate estimation of the blood velocity spectrum using only 12% of the transmissions. The time gained, where no Doppler pulses are sent, can be used to enable the display of both blood velocities and high quality B-mode images at a high frame rate.

Estimation of Non-WSSUS Channel for OFDM Systems in High Speed Railway Environment Using Compressive Sensing

Non Wide Sense Stationary Uncorrelated Scattering (Non-WSSUS) is one of characteristics for high-speed railway wireless channels. In this paper, estimation of Non-WSSUS Channel for OFDM Systems is considered by using Compressive Sensing (CS) method. Given sufficiently wide transmission bandwidth, wireless channels encountered here tend to exhibit a sparse multipath structure. Then a sparse Non-...

Through-the-Wall Moving Target Detection and Localization using Sparse Regularization

In this paper, we consider moving target detection and localization inside enclosed structures for through-the-wall radar imaging and urban sensing applications. We exploit the fact that the through-the-wall scene is sparse in the Doppler domain, on account of the presence of a few moving targets in an otherwise stationary background. The sparsity property is used to achieve efficient joint ran...

A novel method for sparse channel estimation using super-resolution dictionary

Due to the sparse distribution of reflectors in space, wireless channels are commonly sparse. Thus, utilizing the sparsity of channels in the delay-Doppler domain, a channel estimation method based on compressed sensing (CS) theory can reduce the number of pilots. However, because of discrete truncation in the time domain and limited bandwidth, the time delay and frequency shift of non-integer ...

Estimation of NON-WSSUS Channel for OFDM System: Exploiting Support Correlations through a Novel Adaptive Weighted Predict-Re-Estimate L1 Minimization

—It is challenging to estimate the wireless channel of the Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) broadband system under a changing communication environment. The difficulty is mainly attributed to this wireless channel’s Non Wide Sense Stationary Uncorrelated Scattering (Non-WSSUS) which has an implication that the delay and Doppler shift of such a channel are non-stationary and co...

A New Method for Ground Moving Targets Tracking Using Radar Based on Compressed Sensing

In this paper, we propose a Compressed Sensing (CS) based method under the unknown sparse degree to track ground moving targets using Pulse-Doppler (PD) radar. We use the sparsity of delay-Doppler plane in the process of disposing PD radar echo to set up a sparse signal model in each pulse interval. At the state prediction stage, we can get the predicted values of target states by dynamic equat...
